Bye bye, Pen and paper…
Easy Mosaic is the onlything you need to design a tile mosaic pattern.
not really… you may need a digital camera to sample the tiles.

Let’s start a fast project.

As a Tile Mosaic project, we need tiles.
I choose BISAZZA as the tile provider in this project.
we can visit their website and view their tile products:

I think the ‘Opus romano’ tiles are good. look at it:

Now, I will sample these tiles, make them as a digital image. sure I will name the digital file same as their offical ID. we have 42 tiles in this product line.

Ok, now run Easy Mosaic, create a new project, choose ‘Tile Mosaic plan’.

I will select a main image here:

load main image for our tile mosaic project

and goto ‘mosaic tiles’ page. and load all 42 tile samples.

Now, check tile size. the default size is 10×10mm, same as the tile we using.
Next page: Mosaic Size.

I will set the size to 90×120cm.

then goto ‘output’ page and click ‘Create mosaic’ button.

Wait until Easy Mosaic finish the mosaic design.

Then, click on ‘Tile plan’ to make the final construction plan.

In fact, I don’t know what to say here, there are only 4 buttons. press it down and see what happend.

humm, by click ‘Text version’, we get a txt file, the name is ‘TileIDandCount.txt’ open it and you will see:

By click ‘Graphic version’ button, we get a image file,

Well, this is a importand image, Here we have the tiles used to build the mosaic,
For each tile, we assigned a short ID to it, and the count of it, and the orginal name of it.
So you can send this photo to your tile dealer to order tiles.

and click on ‘Graphic Plan’ button. You will have a construction plan:
